Notice Board Module Documentation

Introduction

Group Package 1 websites contain a mix of default verbiage and imagery, with your group's details. This is managed for you by Scouts Online. There is no ability change the settings.

If you'd like to upgrade to a higher package level, please contact us.

Your website package level doesn't include the notice boards. If you'd like to upgrade to a higher package level, please contact us.

The Notice Board module allows you to add simple notes to a notice board web page.

There are Notice Board pages available on the About, all sectional sub-menu's and Members menus. You and your team may use these to show local special offers, suggest activities, remember local resources and more.

Use Cases

The following panels show specific tasks. Click on a panel to see the procedures.

Add a Note

To edit a module, follow these steps:

  • Login with a Site Admin username and password
  • Open the Notice Board page
  • Click Add Note. See Fig. 1
  • Add the Name of your note
  • Add a Summary of your Notes to show on the notice board note, below the Name
  • If you have more than one Notice Board on the page, select the one you want to add the note to
  • Select your name in the Creator field
  • The Created Date will be pre-populated, but you can override it
  • For time-limited notes, enter a Expiry Date so the note isn't displayed after that
  • Enter your Notes text/HTML. See the Text/HTML module for editing instructions.
  • Click Save Changes to keep your changes or Cancel to abandon your changes

Add Another Notice Board

Each notice board page can hold multiple notice boards. Here's how to add a new notice board.

To add a new notice board, follow these steps:

  • Login with a Site Admin username and password
  • Open the Notice Board page
  • Click Manage Notice Boards
  • Click Add Notice Board
  • Enter a Name for your notice board
  • Enter a Description. This will be displayed on the notice board, below the Name
  • Click Save Changes to keep your changes or Cancel to abandon your changes
  • You will see that you can now select between multiple notice boards on your page. See Fig. 2

Delete or Move a Note

Delete a note from a Notice Board.

You can delete a note, or move it to another notice board on the same page.

To do this, follow these steps:

  • Login with a Site Admin username and password
  • Open the Notice Board page
  • Click the See Details button at the bottom of the note to amend
  • Click Edit Note
  • To move the note to another notice board:
    • Select a different Notice Board
    • Click Save Changes to keep your changes or Cancel to abandon your changes
  • To delete the note, click the Delete Record
