Introduction

Your website package level doesn't include the ability to create photo albums. If you'd like to upgrade to a higher package level, please contact us.

Your website allows you to group collections of photographs or images into albums.

Photo Albums are shown on your website home page, and in Gallery pages on the About menu and on each sections' side menu. This allows you to share photographs of your recent events with your volunteers, members, parents and potential new recruits.

Each photo album has a privacy setting to hidden the photographs from public viewing, should you feel there is a safeguarding risk.

Show Photos on your Website

Use Cases

The following panels show specific tasks. Click on a panel to see the procedures.

Add a Blank Photo Album

Add a basic photo album and set the Header Details fields.

Add a basic photo album and set the fields in the 'Header Details' tab.

To add a new photo album, follow these steps:

  • Login with a Site Admin username and password
  • Open Admin/Photo Albums
  • Click Add New
  • Enter a Name for your photo album
  • Add a Description of the album to show to your website visitors
  • Tick the Show for fields that are applicable for your photo album.
    This will limit where the album is shown, so ticking the Cubs section will show the album in the Sections/Cubs/Gallery. To show your album on the home page and in the About/Gallery, tick the GroupGlobal tick box.
  • For public viewing, leave the Privacy Level field set to 'Any website visitor', or adjust it as required
  • Click Save Changes

Add Images to Your Album

Add a collection of photographs or images to a photo album.

Add photographs and images to your photo album and set one of the images as a header image to display in Gallery pages and album lists.

To add photographs or images to a photo album, follow these steps:

  • Login with a Site Admin username and password
  • Open Admin/Photo Albums
  • Amend a photo album, or click Add New and setup the fields in the 'Header Details' tab - See Add a Basic Photo Album
  • Move to the 'Photographs & Images' tab
  • Click the Add File button
  • Select 'Your Files' or 'Scouts Online Files' to use file(s) on your website, or from the Scouts Online image inventory
  • Navigate through the folders to find a suitable image
  • Click Details for a file, to see the image and its' details.
    NB. If you add a name and description to any images, these will be shown when your album is viewed.
  • Tick all file and click Add To Album
  • Tick the Header Image tick box next to the image you want to show in album lists

  • Move back to the 'Header Details' tab and click Save Changes
