New Pinsent Building

Pinsent Campsite is the heart of Winchester Scouting.

Since the 1930s, over 80,000 have camped under canvas, cooked their own food on open fires, played wide games and enjoyed many adventurous activities at Pinsent. Every week, up to 650 Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorer Scouts use it for their meetings.

We need a new building fit for the 21st Century to keep us running for the next 90 years! Our new building will provide 300 square meters of modern facilities. During spring 2019, the existing buildings have been demolished, replaced with temporary structures. They have a limited lifespan and are in desperate need of the new building.

This will transform the appearance of the site. It will also make the site with its woods and fauna much more attractive for use during the day by our 21 Primary Schools for nature days or school days held in the woods.

The District is currently reviewing the new building, the budget required and how the necessary funding will be raised. We should have a positive plan to enable progress to be made in the near future.

The District is very grateful to those who have contributed to the fundraising so far. This has provided a starting capital, enabled the foundations to be laid and gives us the confidence to proceed.
